DOCNZ 2010 - TVC Competition
The commercial will be used on free air and pay TV television as well as on the internet and 3G in New Zealand/Australia. It will screen at promotional events, and prior to the festival before each film. The TVC will also be featured on other cross promotional activities.
The deadline for submissions is 4pm, Friday, 18th December 2009.
Details
The competition is open to anyone who wishes to submit an original TVC.
The TVC must submitted on DVD (PAL) together with the required computer files and master-tape as specified and be done in two lengths:
- one 30 seconds in length (for TV broadcast) and
- one up to 60 seconds in length (for cinema).
Visual and print assets are available for download and can be freely used by entrants in the creation of TVC.
All submissions must be original and not infringe on or violate the rights of any third party (e.g., film and music rights) and have all the necessary clearances and licenses (see Certification).
The tagline is: “Edge to Edge”

The Documentary New Zealand Trust
Is a non-for-profit charitable organization that leads and promotes the importance of documentary films and filmmaking in New Zealand to our creative, business and wider communities. The Trust runs several activities including the Documentary Edge Festival, Screen Edge Forum, DOC Pitch, DOC Lab and Documentary Edge Campus.
Documentary Edge Festival is Australasia's premiere international competitive documentary film festival held annually in New Zealand and showcases the very best documentary films from New Zealand and around the World. The Festival includes a Gala Awards, Q&A sessions with filmmakers, social functions and more.
The Screen Edge Forum is an annual Film, TV and All Media industry event focused on innovative ways to create and fund all kinds of screen production. It includes seminars, panels, master-classes, and a pitching forum. The Forum is a place to update your tool-box with cutting-edge ideas and network with local and international professionals and experts. The Forum is a 3-day event that runs at the same time of Documentary Edge Festival. A key event of the Forum is a Pitching Forum (DOC Pitch) attended by local and overseas commissioners, buyers and sales agents where selected projects are pitched with an opportunity to earn a commission or co-production funding.
DOC Lab is a 3-day incubator for transmedia projects. Whether you are in drama or documentary, if you wish to develop digital media ideas across platforms then you should attend DOC Lab.
The Trust is also developing the Docu72, a short form documentaty competition.
