Job description: 

Reporting to The Group Managing Director.

Direct Reports to the position include:

  • TV Engineering Manager
  • Group IT Manager
  • Broadcast Operations Manager TV
  • Operations Administration Manager
  • Radio Engineering Manager
  • Radio Transmission Manager

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Capital Planning. Taking the lead in developing and implementing the annual capital plan for the Company
  • Transmission. Ensuring television and radio transmission meets all required standards and that appropriate procedures for dealing with maintenance and outages are in place
  • Technical Plant: Directing the maintenance and repair of all radio and television studio and remote technical equipment
  • Television Operations: Directing the operation of all on air and support areas including production facilities and personnel
  • Information Technology: Directing the operations of the IT department, including development and maintenance of all computer work stations, all computer based systems and all networks within the company
  • Government Relations: Manage relationship with M.E.D and MCH as appropriate on issues such as licensing and spectrum use. Maintain all broadcast licences and facilitate the acquisition of new licences
  • Digital TV and Radio: Develop strategic plan and manage the transition to digital
  • Disaster Recovery: Develop and maintain a disaster recovery plan for the Company
  • Manage and maintain supplier contracts as directed and delegated
  • Manage the tendering process for establishment of technical suppliers
  • Delivery of agreed cost budgets on a monthly/quarterly basis
  • Provide insight into all technological advances across all platforms to ensure the business can perform at the highest and most cost efficient level possible
  • Manage relationships with all regulatory bodies; representing the company on these on an as required basis
  • Provide career development, training and succession planning to the Engineering and technology divisions of the company.
  • Adopt a "Best Practice" guide for customer service. Ensure all teams are engaged in the delivery of this across Radio, TV and Interactive.
  • Other functions and projects as reasonably required
