We require an experienced and creative editor who’s a quick thinker, pays attention to detail, can work to tight deadlines, and keep a cool head when the pressure hits to head up our current affairs programmes.
We are only seeking EXPERIENCED people who have worked in a news/current affairs environment. Please do not apply unless you have a TV news/current affairs background.
Your duties will include: Editing and managing 3 weekly current affairs programmes and weekly news wrap programme. This is a full time position within a small tight organization on Auckland's North Shore (Albany) that punches well above its weight daily, delivering 3 quality half-hour current affairs programmes each week to NZ’s rural sector via Channel 99 on Sky TV. You need to be a superb editor with a keen interest in the world around you, prepared to roll up your sleeves and make a difference. You will ensure the smooth post production workflow of the programmes – delivering material on time and making sure it meets all technical requirements, plus archiving material. You will assist in problem-solving technical and operational issues. You will also be required at times to assist in the training of junior staff and occasionally to cut news shows.
- Hours of Work: 8.00am – 4.30pm
- Days of work: Monday to Friday
- Salary: $59,000 - $65,000
- Start Date: August 30, 2010
