Expression of Interest | Training
Call for Expressions of Interest
In order to support the development of more skilled arts practitioners Creative New Zealand (CNZ) is looking to contract a suitably qualified training provider to plan and provide a short course for up to 22 arts practitioners. The course is to provide New Zealand arts practitioners with opportunities to gain knowledge and develop the skills required to successfully organise the touring of performing art works and writers within New Zealand.
CNZ is also interested in hearing from suitably qualified and experienced New Zealand arts practitioners interested in contributing to such a course as a tutor or mentor.
Training provided through this course will be expected to:
- develop the skills and knowledge required for successful touring within New Zealand
- take account of the cultural needs and perspectives of practitioners with a focus on touring works by Maori and New Zealand Pacific artists
- involve a training workshop as well as opportunities for a tutor to mentor participants during a specific project and
- use arts sector expertise and knowledge of touring within New Zealand.
Parties interested in developing and delivering this training, or interested in making themselves available as a course tutor, are invited to submit a written expression of interest to Creative New Zealand by no later than 5 pm on Friday 18 December 2009.
Details of course requirements, the anticipated time frame and budget and an explanation of the expression of interest process can be found in the request for expressions of interest document attached.
This project has been made possible through support provided by Te Waka Toi, the Pacific Arts Committee and the Arts Board.

Creative New Zealand
Creative New Zealand is the national agency for the development of the arts in New Zealand. The purpose of our work is to encourage, promote and support the arts in New Zealand for the benefit of all New Zealanders.
(Arts Council of New Zealand Toi Aotearoa Act 1994).Our mandate is to support community and professional arts. In doing so, we uphold the principles of access, participation, and excellence and innovation in the arts.
We value the partnership we have with Maori, in acknowledgement of their unique position as tangata whenua. Much of what makes New Zealand art unique lies in what makes New Zealand unique - our indigenous culture.
We also value Pacific arts and their growing contribution to New Zealand identity. Given the increasing ethnic diversity of New Zealand’s population, Creative New Zealand works to ensure that our impact is felt across the population.
