Job description: 

Te Matatini Society Incorporated is the national body for Maori Performing Arts for Aotearoa and is responsible for fostering, developing and protecting traditional Maori performing arts in the pursuit of excellence. Te Matatini is seeking to recruit an experienced individual for this newly established executive role to assist with achieving this kaupapa.

Operations Manager

Reporting to the Executive Director, this role requires a natural leader who is ready to take the operations of Te Matatini to new levels of efficiency and effectiveness in providing a consistently high standard of service to all stakeholders. You will have the skills to link and co-ordinate projects and establish policies to ensure the successful operation of the organisation.

You will become part of a small senior management team to provide practical input into the decision-making process, and implement plans for improvement.

To be successful in this role you will have:
• proven experience in operational management;
• an ability to develop and implement systems and processes to enhance performance and efficiency;
• an ability to lead projects, manage risk and contribute to business planning; and
• the ability to operate within a complex environment.

Your understanding and experience working in Maori performing arts or with Maori groups and communities is important to the success of this role.
