As an Urban Designer you have a unique opportunity to shape the future of Christchurch City!
Christchurch City Council is a progressive, forward thinking local government organisation employing over 2500 people. Working with the Strategy and Planning Group you'll support the City's recovery from the earthquakes and contribute to the delivery of a diverse range of Council initiatives.
You'll be involved in a range of projects from site specific planning and design through to city wide strategies and policies. Using your Urban Design knowledge you will support the Urban Design Panel and advise on Master Plans, district plan changes, resource consent applications and subdivisions. You'll have an opportunity to influence future development plans to deliver good urban design outcomes.
The successful candidate is likely to have a tertiary level qualification in urban design and experience in the sector. Well developed design skills are essential as is the ability to communicate effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders. Up to date knowledge of relevant legislation is required. You will be a proactive person able to work effectively within multi-disciplinary teams influencing and guiding the decisions of others.
