Graduate Architect
Jackie Gillies + Associates is a small practice of Heritage Consultants based in Queenstown and is looking for a full-time graduate architect for a six month period with an immediate start. The successful candidate is likely to have the following skills/attributes:
- A real passion and enthusiasm for historic buildings and sites (experience is not essential, but the ability to show an appreciation and commitment to heritage is);
- Excellent CAD and hand-drawing skills;
- Attention to detail and strong observational and analytical skills;
- Good report writing skills;
- A desire to learn;
- Willingness to travel; and
- Enthusiasm and team spirit.
At least initially the work is likely to involve the preparation of detailed drawings of existing buildings, together with repairs and adaptive reuse of heritage structures.
Remuneration dependant upon skills, experience and ability.
Potential for the employment period to be extended for the right candidate and subject to the future workload of the practice.
