Graphic and Web Designer

New Zealand Tertiary College (NZTC) is seeking a Graphic Designer for print and web with at least 3 years solid industry experience. The right candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills and creative flair in an impressive and customer focused portfolio.

The role will demand a focus on either web or print but it is essential that the candidate have some skills in both these areas. An attractive salary is available to the right candidate whose experience meets the requirements. The position is not suitable for recent graduates.

Web design skills and experience:

• Web design experience which shows an understanding of how user interface design in web applications achieves ease of use and customer satisfaction
• The candidate’s work will show understanding of improvement of the user experience with jQuery techniques and CSS
• A knowledge of the need to stay informed of current cross browser/platform approaches
• Experience designing the interface for a web application would be a highly desirable

Print design experience:

• You must have a portfolio which shows how you apply your creativity and technical skill in Adobe CS to meet the brief
• In particular, you will be an advanced user of Photoshop and Illustrator
• Show the ability to use initiative to quickly establish the client’s needs and respond to feedback
• You will be able to demonstrate a range of design styles in your work, including a clean corporate style, in the production of branding material which includes most of the following: brochures, posters, flyers, stationary, t-shirts and packaging design
