Lighting/Sound Designer/Operator
We are looking for a young, (preferably) experienced lighting/sound designer who could also operate a show we are producing at The Basement from the 4th-14th of Nov.
We are:
The Emergency Room is an independent production company formed with the specific goal to produce works that will deliberately and thoughtfully combine the talents of experienced industry professionals with the next generation of aspiring actors and directors. We believe that the knowledge and experience of our industry leaders needs to be mined by emerging talent not only in the classroom, but also consciously on the job, that is in the rehearsal room and on the stage. We believe both parties have invaluable knowledge to impart to one-another and believe our approach will give today’s veteran professionals the opportunity to discover and nurture the burgeoning careers of those at the forefront of tomorrows industry, as well as giving a breath of fresh air back to those who too often don’t have the opportunity to take one for themselves.
The show is:
Comprising of six one-act, two-character plays, Autobahn explores our humanity, or lack thereof from the close confines of the front seat of an automobile. From a relationship break-up gone awry, to a kidnapping thinly disguised as a road trip, LaBute’s unsettling montage gradually reveals the scabrous force of words left unsaid while illuminating the delicate interplay between intention and morality.
Directors:
Shane Bosher
Colin Moy
Margaret-Mary Hollins
Kip Chapman
Dena Kennedy
Edwin Wright
Actors include: Annie Whittle, Peta Rutter, Simon London, Bruce Phillips, Rachel Forman, Andi Crown, Ross Anderson, Todd Emerson.
This would be a great opportunity for someone to work with some of the best Actors/Directors in the country on a brilliant piece of theatre in a well established venue.
Payment will be profit-share.
Lighting/Sound design skills.
If interested please contact Todd at toddemerson@ihug.co.nz
