Yellow Pencil Ltd are a leading Christchurch brand development, design and advertising company with over 28 years experience in the industry. We are currently facilitating the establishment of an in-house design and production manager to be employed by one of our leading clients, whose brand, design and production requirements we have serviced for over fifteen years.
 
This is without doubt a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for a fully qualified and experienced designer who is looking to further their career in a stimulating, creative, challenging and rewarding environment.
 
Our client is a leading Christchurch-based and New Zealand wide retailer who is looking forward to supporting an innovative, talented and commercially 'savvy" production designer who can help take the business forward in exciting, new directions.
 
With an ever changing product range centred around the high-quality and luxury homestyle market, this position requires a constant appreciation of modern flair, style, fashion trends and design. Underlining this is the need for a practical understanding of retail selling techniques throughout everything that is produced.
 
This position will offer the successful applicant the opportunity to work closely with the company's marketing and management team in all areas of retail store advertising and brand development. These areas include :
 
  • Newspaper and Magazine Advertising
  • High Quality Seasonal Catalogue Production
  • In store Point of Sale support
  • Store Signage and Display support
  • Print and Direct Mail
  • Website design and management
  • Online marketing initiatives
  • Photography
 
This position will demand a high level of technical and graphic expertise with a good, practical knowledge of Mac-based graphics programmes including Photoshop, In-Design, Illustrator and associated Adobe platforms.  The successful applicant will need to be completely familiar with pre-press requirements and digital file supply to publications around New Zealand.
 
At the same time, this position will require a large on-going involvement in the establishment and management of the company's new website and online marketing initiatives, working in conjunction with an outside web development team.
