Designer Direction is on the hunt for contributing fashion writers, journalists and bloggers for our  website!

About Designer Direction
Designer Direction was founded to help and support designers at any stage of their fashion career by offering support, advice, articles, interviews plus lots more. We are also a bunch of passionate, creative, fashion kids so we talk about style, trends and our creative industry friends too.

We are looking for people with a similar outlook, who have a love for fashion, the industry and want to help build something inspirational.

Success through Designer Direction
We have had our writing contributors build their portfolio’s with us and then take up jobs working for magazines and newspapers. We encourage our team to further their own careers and love helping people to reach their goals.

What experience and personalities are we looking for?
The Designer Direction family is made up of a fun bunch of enthusiastic individuals that can meet deadlines and have a laugh. We are looking for people with talent and skill and not necessarily oodles of experience. If you can prove to us that you have the potential to be (or already are) amazing, if you are passionate, professional, reliable, fun and committed then you need to get in touch.

What kind of writing assignments are avaialble?

The scope of writing includes;

• Runway reviews of fashion design competitions & awards ie ANZFW, Pasifika, Cult Couture, Newmarket Young Designer Awards etc
• Runway reviews of fashion school end of year shows, mid-year & specialty shows
• Fashion reviews for designer collection & label launches, parties and shows
• Fashion industry specialty events, prizegivings etc
• Designer & Industry Interviews
• Topical & feature articles
• Trend reports + MORE

Sounds great, what are the perks?
The perks my friend are many and include;

1. Fattening up your portfolio with articles and photography from the fashion industry
2. You will attend fashion events and other industry gigs on our behalf and for free
3. Exposure of your talent through Designer Direction to help build your credentials in the industry
4. Gaining experience in the fashion industry with a pretty cool and reputable fashion website
5. The opportunity to work with other brilliant people, build some networks and more importantly have fun!
6. The work is unpaid but we pay in ♥ and via all of the perks above numbered 1-5.

What parts of the world do you need contributors from?
Things are moving really fast and we need to keep up so are looking for people that fit into any of the following;

• In New Zealand we are especially interested in those situated in or available to travel to;
  The South Island – Invercargill, Christchurch
  Bay of Plenty - Tauranga
  Central Hawkes Bay - Napier
  Waikato - Hamilton
• In Australia if you live in the following cities;
  Sydney
  Melbourne
  Perth

If you are not situated in any of these areas, not to worry we need people to write about all sorts of things, so give us a go anyway.
