Senior Urban Designer
Do you wish to become part of an exciting dynamic urban design team?
Wellington City Council is seeking a Senior Urban Designer. This position will suit someone who has the skill to extend the boundaries of urban design in New Zealand.
The Council wish to appoint a highly motivated, suitably qualified and design focused person to this position at a time when the City is exploring its future role and direction. Strong experience working within the Resource Management Act, Local Government Act, and District Plan (review) environments as well as proven experience in giving urban design advice in relation to consenting would be considered highly desirable.
There are a number of key projects being developed across Council that require urban design to broker valuable initiatives which will influence the outcomes for the city over the next 30 years. The Council is keen to use strategic design to guide outcomes at a range of scales.
The Senior Urban Designer will play an important role in developing policy and providing professional design advice to Management Board and Council as well as to the community and stakeholders.
The position sits within an integrated urban design and heritage business unit that operates within the Strategy, Planning and Urban Design Directorate.
