Graphic Designer and Publicity Coordinator

The DEPOT is a vibrant multi disciplinary arts community  based in Devonport.  It is open and inclusive and encourages participation in all art forms providing galleries, rehearsal and recording studio facilities, artists’ studios and seminar facilities, a WEB radio station and web based magazine.

We are seeking an experienced graphic designer who is also publicity savvy to create print and web for the Depot and its clients and to maintain and develop the profile of the Depot and its projects.  Are you able to both create striking design work for diverse projects and promote these projects?  Can you spread the word and widen our audience using your integrity and excellent ideas?

The position requires the following skills, attributes and experience:

• Competent in Adobe CS 4 suite of design programmes for creation of print and web design.
• Working knowledge of Office programme: Outlook, Word, Exel. for emailing, writing promotional material, maintaining administration processes.
• Experience in commercial print workflow (for printing of brochures, postcards, posters etc).
• Web software/tool savvy, with competence in web site administration using word-press and joomla advantageous.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Great work ethic and maturity.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good networking skills.
• Confidence in using the web for the promotion of Depot projects and activities.

The position is for 21 hours a week (days to be negotiated) for a contract period of five months
