Fashion Production & Design Assistant

Kowtow is a luxe fairtrade organic cotton basics company based in Wellington. We currently stock in top boutiques nationwide, Australia, Japan and online www.kowtow.co.nz . And we're looking for a creative, highly motivated fashion graduate with at least 1 years work experience to be our part-time production/design assistant. You will be assisting with 2 yearly collections and seen them come to fruition by helping with the entire process of design, sampling, selling, production & distribution.

Further requirements are:

• Completed studies in fashion. Experience with pattern making & specification sheets.
• Excellent & creative clothing designer with technical ability.
• Min. 1 year experience working in a fashion environment.
• Keen interest is sustainability, environment & ethics and how these aspects can be incorporated into fresh/modern clothing design.
• Excellent communicator - upfront & honest.
• Ability to use your own intitiave and take ownership of tasks.
• Quick, reliable, decisive & committed - the fashion industry is very fast paced, you have to be a quick mover. 
• Flexible with working hours.
• Flexible in nature - as we are such small team your job description has to remain flexible and some days you will be asked to help with dispatching orders or tiding the workroom. Other duties will come up as time progresses.

You will have the opportunity to learn a lot from this role, as you will be working directly assisting the designer/director of Kowtow. This is a great opportunity for someone with the right energy and creative skills.

Hours: This role is part-time approximatly 2-3 days per week.
