We need someone interested in costuming, a seamstress as well as a researcher who enjoys communicating with people to look after our large replica wardrobe.

You will need to be free every third Sunday morning to help dress our Fencible Village characters appropriately and spend another half day a week mending or designing costumes for the wardrobe.

    Howick Historical Village

    Howick Historical Village is an open air museum with 30 heritage buildings furnished with decor and displays highlighting the fencible period of 1840-1880. Costumed villagers are present on Live Days (every third Sunday of the month) and engage in Victorian crafts and pastimes.
    Museum staff care for the artefacts which have been donated by the community and range from fabulous Victorian clothing, to military campaign desks with a focus on authentic domestic items. An archive, library and art collection can be researched by appointment. www.fencible.org.nz
