Planner – Urban Designer
Part time (20 hrs per week)
An exciting opportunity has become available at Queenstown Lakes District Council for a motivated Planner – Urban Designer looking to utilise and build on their skills in our fast paced, leading edge Policy and Planning team. This is a fantastic opportunity to further your career in Local Government whilst experiencing everything that the Queenstown Lakes District has to offer.
Collectively the team is responsible for all strategic and community based planning and the ongoing evolution of the all important District Plan. In this key role, your primary focus will be on urban design input into policy development for the District Plan Review, and will also include work across various legislation and disciplines both on an individual and team basis. The successful candidate will be a design champion providing advice to the CEO, GM and Leadership Team on Urban Design matters. This role involves high-level strategic planning as well as undertaking and/or managing specific policy projects focused on delivering sustainable outcomes.
To be successful in this role, you will have planning and urban design experience, demonstrated skills in developing policy and the ability to provide practical advice. You will also need relevant qualifications, and an understanding of local government and relevant legislation.
