Wellington City Council’s award-winning website, www.Wellington.govt.nz, is growing fast in popularity, online services and content. To help with the growing workload we need an additional Web Coder to join our team!

Key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Maintaining and developing the Council’s website, www.Wellington.govt.nz and the Council’s intranet
  • Building web pages and web modules
  • Building web applications and databases
  • Troubleshooting existing web applications
  • Provide technical web solutions for user needs
  • Improving the performance of the external and internal site search
  • Liaising diplomatically with a wide variety of clients
  • Implementing New Zealand government web standards and guidelines. </ul></li>

If you have the following experience and skills then we want to hear from you:

  • Confident and experienced using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP and MySQL to create successful, professional websites
  • Able to write code by hand
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience working in a Windows network environment
  • Confident in basic graphic manipulation in Photoshop.
