Web Developer - The Learning Connexion
The Learning Connexion is a tertiary school of Art and Creativity based in the Hutt Valley, Wellington.
We are seeking a talented junior to intermediate level Web Developer to work onsite from our Taita Campus, 35 hours per week (full time). The role encompasses all facets of our web material, including student blogs, online newsletters, class information, and the maintenance and development of our main website.
The position requires a solid skill level in HTML / CSS, PHP and mySQL. Experience working with Wordpress / Wordpress MU is essential, as is an ability to generate standards-based code.
Essential
Ability to write standards-based HTML / CSS
2+ years experience with PHP / mySQL
1+ years experience with Wordpress / Wordpress MU
Experience maintaining an unmanaged VPS (Linux)
Highly desirable
Excellent understanding of cross-browser rendering issues
Good grasp of design / usability issues
As well as having the technical know-how, you need to be initiative driven and happy planning your own day. You must be super-organised, efficient, and capable of prioritising tasks so deadlines are met. You also need to be a confident and clear communicator, as the role connects with many different facets of the school, both students and staff.
