VOLUNTEERS COORDINATOR POSITION PROFILE

Responsible for sourcing, recruiting and liaising with all volunteers required for the Titirangi Festival of Music 2010

Reports to:

Festival Manager                  

Key Relationships:

Festival Manager, All people in Festival that require volunteers  (this will be made apparent at Festival Team meetings)

Key Tasks:

l      Organise and facilitate a meeting and briefing with all volunteers

l      Ensure all volunteers are familiar with Festival Health and Safety guidelines

l      Coordinate allocation of volunteers to the Festival staff who need them

l      Look after volunteers while they are working, ie check on them and see if they are happy

l      To develop a timeline and action plan, outlining key milestones and meetings

l      To work to a budget provided by the Festival Manager

l      To ensure the timely establishment or update of existing volunteers database

l      Keep records of volunteers placed including their time spent on the job and of any supplies or merchandise given to them

l      Return all documentation, time sheets and volunteers supplies distribution records to the Festival Office at the end of the festival period

l      Produce a report about the position and the tasks involved, summary of the results, any difficulties, evaluation of the methods used, a review of the position and recommendations for the future and deliver to Festival Manager no later than Wednesday 7 April 2010

Qualifications:

Previous people management experience an advantage

Notes:

Although this position i advertised as 'unpaid' we will make all efforts to put together a thank you package for the position. The times indicated include pre-organising. The actual festival dates are 25 to 28 March.
