Artistic Co-ordinator - Community Events
This is a much sought-after opportunity to be part of our popular, free community events such as the Masked Parade and Carnivale, Lantern Celebration, Buskers’ Festival and Trolley Derby These events are part of what makes Nelson an arts centre and fun place to live and now you could be part of making this happen.
We are seeking proposals from experienced Theatre / Performing Arts professionals to deliver specific events, as part of the festivals programme, under contract to Nelson City Council.
Proposals will need to outline your expertise in:
Performing arts & community development, physical theatre, masks, community theatre and education, event design, direction and production, leadership, marketing and sponsorship.
The successful contractor will be the Artistic Co-ordinator of these events and will need to manage budgets, acquire sponsorship and build/maintain excellent relationships between community, corporate & private sector stake holders and manage creative teams. Delivery of the programmes will take approximately 880 hours from 1 June 2010 to 1 March 2011.
