Programme Manager, Major Events - Leverage and Legacy Portfolio

Help shape the future of Auckland as an exciting vibrant international city renowned for hosting major events

This outstanding position promises high profile projects. Initially your primary focus will be on leading the leverage and legacy programmes for our city's major contribution to Rugby World Cup 2011 with projects such as the Queens Wharf and Albany Lakes fan zones, sports development, team welcomes, volunteers, schools programmes and Auckland's six week festival, but in the future will include the likes of the Volvo Ocean Race, Louis Vuitton Trophy and such major events that Auckland attracts. It offers the opportunity to influence Council, Auckland and the national events arena and the development of valuable national and international networks. A fantastic opportunity to progress your already successful major events career!

Leading, building and inspiring an established team of experts, you will provide strategic and tactical direction to the programme with the ability to genuinely make your mark. You will have to think on a macro level, planning and managing a broad programme of leverage and legacy activities required for operational delivery.

 

Having at least 5 years experience in the international major events arena, ideally within the leveraqe and legacy realm, you will have managed a team through a major event, and will be respected for delivery which considers all likely impacts, maximising outcomes through implementation of appropriate economic, social, environmental and cultural programmes.
