 POSITION DESCRIPTION
 AUCKLAND FESTIVAL TRUST
 
 Position:   Publications Editor (Contract)
 
 Reporting to:  Marketing & Development Manager
 
 
 Description

  • Working with the Marketing & Development Manager, the Publications Editor will help co-ordinate the production, compilation of content and publishing of all marketing collateral for the Auckland Arts Festival, which takes place 2 to 20 March 2011.

     Key Responsibilities

    Work with the Marketing & Development Manager on all aspects of the marketing collateral.  These will include the following areas:

    Overall collateral management
    • Develop and implement an overall marketing collateral production plan and schedule of timings
    • Project manage all aspects of the collateral production for the AAF

    Official programme and other marketing materials
    • Source programme copy and images for the official festival programme (to be printed prior to the festival launch on 10 Nov 2010 – tbc)
    • Update programme information including sourcing key messages, venue and booking details.
    • Copy writing and editing for all marketing materials and event programmes (print and online)
    • Oversee the design, production and distribution of all event collateral.

    Advertising Campaign
    • Oversee advertising copy supplied to various advertising channels (including print and outdoor).
    • Manage the ad schedule execution

    Publicity
    • Liaise with the Senior Publicist to ensure a consistent approach to copy and maximise opportunities with all partners.
    • Work with Publicist to acquire as much media coverage as possible

    Sponsorship & Supplier Relationships
    • Liaise with the Sponsorship Team to ensure all necessary sign offs are received by set deadlines.
    • Establish and maintain good communication with all media sponsors & ensure sponsor benefits are delivered.

    Online
    • Work with website agency to ensure they have all information necessary to build site, including all copy, images, relevant links etc.
    • Assist with the preparation of various e-newsletters.for subscribers, friends etc..

    Financial

    • Maintain an accurate account of budget expenditure and income for areas of responsibility.
    • Provide full budget breakdowns for all individual marketing collateral and channels and ensure all work is completed within agreed budgets

    Reporting

    • Attend meetings when and as required.
    • Provide a wrap up prior to contract end date including:
    ­ Electronic and physical archive of all collateral produced
    ­ Summary of collateral produced including analysis of successes and key learnings
    ­ Full budget analyses budget vs actual

     Term
    This agreement will commence early September 2010 (depends on individual) and concludes on 22nd November 2010.  
    Further work may be available in early 2011 in the lead up to Auckland Arts Festival.
     
    Hours of Work 
    The Contractor’s hours of work can be flexible but is estimated at 3 days per week, with a minimum of 50% of the time spent at the Festival offices in Quay St, Auckland, during office hours. Times to be agreed with Marketing & Development Manager.

     The Festival will make available a desk, a phone (landline) and a computer in the Festival office for the duration of this agreement.
