POSITION DESCRIPTION
AUCKLAND FESTIVAL TRUST
Position: Technical Manager (fixed-term position)
Reporting to: Associate Director
Description
Under the general direction of the Associate Director, the Technical Manager shall be responsible for technical and operational requirements for the Auckland Arts Festival 2011 and the Auckland Festival Trust.

Key Responsibilities
The Technical Manager shall be responsible for the following activities:
- Technical management of the Auckland Arts Festival 2011 programme
- In conjunction with the Associate Director, develop and maintain accurate budgets for the 2011 Festival
- Ensure the Festival meets all Health and Safety requirements and operates within its risk management policy & plans
- Work with technical HODs
- Liaise with the Programme Manager over all freight requirements for the Festival.
- Work with the Programme Manager and Programme Administrator to create comprehensive technical, artist and logistics schedules within POSE.
- Contract and manage casual crew recruitment as required
- Liaise with Marketing staff regarding signage requirements
- Artist liaison support
- Other duties as required
Financial
- Maintain an accurate account of budget expenditure, invoiced and paid
- To report to the Associate Director over all matters pertaining to the budget
- Ensure that production budgets are kept within limits agreed with the Associate Director
- Ensure all expenditure is signed off and approved by the delegated authority
Reporting
- Attend meetings when and as required
- Provide updates on budgets and technical issues
- Provide a post-event report.

Term
This is a fixed-term position, commencing on Monday 18 October 2010 and finishing on Friday 8 April 2011.
Hours of Work
This is a full time position. Expected hours are 40 hours a week between Monday and Saturday, 9.30am to 9.30pm. Additional hours will be required at times.
