Pasifika Festival Stalls Coordinator
Be the prime point of contact for 350 stall holders at the Pasifika Festival, an event that Auckland loves. If you are a dynamic individual with a natural affinity with people, our passionate and dedicated Festival and community events team want you!
Pasifika Festival is one of the largest celebrations of Pacific Island communities in the world. It includes 3 main stages, 10 cultural 'villages' and over 350 stalls selling everything from fresh coconuts and chop suey through to t-shirts, paintings, tapa and weaving. The 2010 festival will be held across 8 days, starting with a sports tournament on Saturday 6 March and finishing with the festival day at Western Springs Park on the 13 March.
Your busy and exciting day will include a mix of managing customer enquiries, database maintenance, invoicing and collating information for stall holders, dealing with commercial site holders and attending meetings to organise all of the above.
You'll have a strong customer service background (gained ideally within an office environment) complemented by an understanding of Pacific Island Communities. Calm under pressure, you are a master multi-tasker with a proactive approach and loads of initiative. Team focussed, with exceptional communication skills you also possess financial abilities. Intermediate MS Office skills and database experience is essential (Pathway experience would be ideal).
Due to the nature of the Pasifika Festival, your flexibility to work weekends and some evening work is vital. The role is fulltime (40 hours a week) from Monday 31 August 2009 to Friday 9 April 2010.
