'Valley of the Succubus'

We are directing our first fully independant feature film ‘Valley of the Succubus’. We have finished filming and i'm looking for musicians to help with the final songs and score to the film to make this project legendary.

This is a movie with a bizarre premise that guarantee’s cult status in both the local and international market.  The film will also screen at various short horror film festivals throughout Australasia, Europe and north America.

Combining black humour with a bizarre horror musical performed by a secret coven of demon worshippers on the hunt for fresh virgin sacrifices for Hermaphroditos their immortal demonic god.

Concept for the film

The Story

It begins in ancient Mesopotamia in the middle east with a tribe releasing at trapped evil as a secret weapon against invading barbarians. Unfortunately for them Hermaphroditos quickly turns on them and his reign of terror begins.

Now it’s 1970’s small-town New Zealand where a group of actors are rehearsing a funk rock musical based on ‘Jack the Ripper’ as the malevolent Hermaphroditos watches like a reptilian phantom of the opera from the shadows.

The actors are singing and dancing in full costume unaware of the havoc he is about to cause in their lives. Half the troupe are the wandering immortal serial killers in League with Hermaphroditos, on the look out for fresh virgins to sacrifice for eternal longevity. One by one the local actresses disappear leaving local snoop and want to be detective Anna with a mystery to solve and a trail of bodies to follow.

Will Anna stop the Evil from consuming and corrupting the entire town?

Will this snake in this small town Eden be revealed and his evil curse finally broken?

We are looking for a strong team of musicians and crew to complete the final scenes and help me with the final arrangements of the songs.

The Style

Think of Rocky Horror Picture Show combined with The Evil Dead 2 and B-grade Roger Corman movies. We are going for a strong experimental camera style that horror movie cinematography gives the freedom to explore. On top of this we are setting the scene in the early seventies when the innocence of rock and roll was being corrupted by morally exploratory consumerist excess. This gives us the perfect era for the soundtrack to our musical.

The film is featuring make up effects work by award winning special effects and makeup artists from throughout New Zealand thanks to an association with the NZ body Arts Awards. This ensures us a high quality of material both visually and audibly that will give us the unique production to take to the festivals and award shows.

The actors,crew and musicians all will receive a DVD copy of the film to go on their show reels. Photo’s for their resume and full information of any and all film festivals the production will be submitted to.
