Job description:

We are looking for a DOP for an exciting ghost thriller called The Lake.

This project is a 2 day film shoot which occurs in late March 2010.

This is an exciting short thriller.  It is unpaid but we are aiming to make it as professional and as enjoyable as possible to all involved.  Plot information can be found at www.makethelake.co.nz

If you would like to apply for the DOP position and request a copy of the script, please email makethelake@gmail.com in the first instance to David with "DOP" in the subject heading.

Attributes required:

Excellent knowledge of lighting and lighting theory, must know what CTO and CTB means, must know how to white balance and know your C-stands from your Blondies.

Film education mandatory or hopefully a few years of experience behind you.

Ability to supervise the clapper loader, focus puller and camera operator as a tight unit.

Shooting on HPX-502 or EX1 with letus adaptor so knowledge of these HD workflows desirable.

We will be sending a separate call out for a gaffer, but since this is a small shoot, the ability to be proactive with lighting is helpful.

You will be required to meet with the director a couple of times before the shoot and to visit Portsmouth to create a lighting list.  We have a budget of $1,000 so we have a chance to have some fun with the lights and gripping equipment.  You may be required to aid in the hiring of the clapper loader or focus puller, but this is not essential.  We already have a camera operator.
