ButoBase Ltd is seeking a fluent Māori speaker to join our team as a production assistant.

 

ButoBase Ltd are the producers of cult comedy classic Wayne Anderson: Singer of Songs, TV One documentary series Minority Voices, Māori Television’s most popular league series Ngāti NRL and one off documentaries The Secret of John Rowles, Riki Ellison Defender and international documentary Relocated Mountains.

 

Key Skills Sought:

Key personal attributes and skills: Fluent Māori speaker, with excellent written and oral language skills in both English and Māori, excellent teamwork and communication skills, strong organisational and administrative ability, word-processing and computer literate, negotiation and problem-solving skills, diligence, close attention to detail, initiative and the ability to work well under pressure. We would prefer someone with some television production experience, but it is not essential.

Basic Job Description – Te Reo Assistant:

This is a vital role in the company. You will work closely with all production crew ensuring that all te reo content output by ButoBase is accurate and of the highest quality possible. Your responsibilities will include transcribing episodes and interviews in te reo, assisting with voice over records, baseline and credit checks, production filing and documentation, and aiding in the smooth running of all ButoBase production procedures.
