Work type:

Work classification:

Job description:

This June Script to Screen in association with CoLab and Nga Aho Whakaari will run a digital media workshop. Up to nine selected teams will spend a weekend producing a 2-minute story-based project for the mobile phone or internet, under the tutelage of experienced practitioners Laurent Antonczak, Bevin Linkhorn, Simon Marler and Pita Turei.

Application Deadline: 14 May

Workshop: 11-13 June, AUT University, Auckland.

The workshop is open to teams of 1-3 who need to cover the key skills to produce the project.

Applicants are required to submit an outline of the project with up to three accompanying images, and selections will be made on the basis that they suit the medium, are innovative, achievable, and tell a story.  Projects relating to the marketing of a film will be considered as long as they are story-based.

Mobile phones & mini DV cameras for shooting and computers for editing will be supplied, as well as technical and facilitative support.

Nga Aho Whakaari is pleased to support this initiative and to encourage the participation of those creatives who can craft material that will open the door to what will soon become the most accessible viewing platform nationally.

For Maori image makers this new way of telling our stories builds on the growing web-based networking of ideas and takes it directly to our mobile phones.

Ka pu te ruha, ka hao te rangatahi – when the analogue network goes digital, the new network goes broadband in the hands of a new generation.Pita Turei
