Job description:

Jack is faced with the challenge of trying to get Julie to smile yet she stubbornly refuses to give in the reason for this is revealed at the end of the film when she finally does smile...

Roles:

Jack - a charismatic man who goes through life smiling. When he encounters Julie one day in a park whilst on his lunch break he met with the challenge of trying to elicit a smile from her - something which she refuses to give despite his many attempts. By the end of the film Jack is almost desperate and defeated, losing his own smile in the process and when Julie finally does smile he is forced to re-think his own motivations for wanting others to smile.

Actor Requirements:

Looking for a man between the age of 20 - 40 who is able to play a relaxed role yet also have the ability to flip the coin and play a man on mission who borders on deperate and defeated at the end of the film. An actor that can improvise and be spontaneous would be best as the comedy is going to come through in the performace. It would be best if the actor is clean cut/ shaven although if he has facial scruff this could be worked into the film but will need to be shaved for the beginning sequences. A great smile is a must!

Julie - a mysterious yet very serious woman who doesn't like to smile. Jacks attempts at provoking a smile out of her seem to only lead to annoyance but the audience will see the cracks in her facade. At the end of the film Julie's reasons for not wanting to smile are revealed and they aren't quite what Jack is expecting.

Actor Requirements:

Looking for a woman between the age of 20 - 40 who is able to keep quite a straight face on camera whilst having another actor try to make them break this. The ability to show subtle cracks in this facade is a must. Please note that either special effects make up or a prosthesis will be worn for the final scene when Julie smiles and it is revealed that she has no teeth.
