It is one of the most demanding yet rewarding producer roles in the business. Do you have the skills, the will, the flair, energy and stamina to produce the nightly current affairs programme Close Up?

This is not a job for the faint hearted. In this senior role you must be highly motivated, creative and able to thrive in the cut and thrust and highly competitive world of daily current affairs.

You will have demonstrated excellent production and journalistic skills and to be able to think outside the square. 

To succeed in this role you must have leadership qualities, be multi-skilled and have the ability to add significant value to the programme production and content, including:

• Manage and co-ordinate the successful production and transmission of Close Up.
• Demonstrate high production values.
• Perform well in stressful situations.
• Communicate needs to journalistic production team, presenter, crews, graphic artists, director and support staff.
• Consistently generate story ideas and encourage fresh story angles and treatment.
• Lead a team of three producers in Auckland.
  Have the ability to mentor staff.
• Demonstrate inspiring leadership to deputise and support the Editor.
