With Close Up it’s the story that counts. Do you have the journalistic flair, the tenacity, experience and energy to be a Close Up reporter in the South Island?

You will have a strong on-camera presence and broadcast voice delivery coupled with excellent writing and interviewing skills. To succeed in this role you will be a self-starter, able to work un-supervised, and be driven to identify new or emerging current affairs stories. You will need to be multi-skilled and be prepared to wrangle and look after talent.

Our successful applicant will:

  • Deliver well-produced stories on time and to duration.
  • Perform live in the field or studio.
  • Consistently generate story ideas and fresh angles.
  • Clearly communicate story requirements to the camera crew and editors.
  • Perform well in stressful situations.
  • Possess a high work ethic.
