HE KAUPAPA RONGONUI, HE KAUPAPA MATARIKI

We are on the look out for a short-film crew.

We wish to make a film about Matariki (the Maori New Year), in a contemporary and traditional view.

The goal is to teach what Matariki really means and how our tupuna performed this annual event.

Film students, Professionals and people with any production skills are welcome.

 What we have sorted so far:

• Director(Me)
• Producer
• Script
• Actors
• Camera Unit
• Gaffer
• Sound Composer
• Astronomer

What we need:

• Production Manager
• Sound recorder/mixer
• 1st AD
• Help
• Runners
• Hair/Makeup
• Costume Help(we have the costumes)

So ae, we need a fair bit, any kind of production help really. We have alot of Wairua too so don't need to buy any of that, but more is welcome.

Update:31st May 2010We had our first crew meeting yesterday 30th May. The turnout was great and our project is really gaining some momentum, we must keep it up guys. Everyone was positive and very supportive. Thanks to all of you who came and joined Project Matariki.We now have an excellent D.O.P.and camera unit.Also sound composition, and even an astronomer well they are the same person but yes we have an astronomer on our team I find that fascinating. Right now we desperately need a Production Manager. Preferably a well experienced PM and also Maor,.especially to get our funding under way, but also to begin doing what a PM does organize. We plan to shoot in mid-July and would like every one who wants to be involved in this exciting project to join up by the 25th June. No reira tēnā koutou katoa.
