A Fixed-Term vacancy of six months have become available, within Waka Huia of Maori programmes, TVNZ. The Waka Huia Researcher will be on 6 Months Maternity Leave.
Waka Huia is a weekly archival documentary programme. The Waka Huia team seeks a talented Researcher to research story ideas that represent Maori achievement and endeavour in all aspects of life, both in New Zealand and overseas.
The Researcher will identify story ideas, angles, potential talent, then provide written story lines and background information such as archival material. They will maintain a diary of national and local events of Maori interest and will build a library of potential Waka Huia stories.
The successful candidate will have previous experience in research roles, and will be able to provide accurate information that will aid the Director / Reporters. They will have the ability to quickly identify key factors in a story.
You will need a working knowledge of te reo, tikanga, Maori issues and events, as well as an awareness of legal issues that impact on broadcasting. If you are a clear communicator, a positive team player with polished research skills, please apply today.
