Young Actors Required for Short film

“One Year Later” is a scary short film about children who go trick-or-treating and never come back.

 These roles would suit young actors who love acting, love costumes, and love cool scary make-up. We are seeking gutsy, enthusiastic, imaginative kids.

The film is directed by Rose Damon and is being produced as part of Unitec's Graduation Season.

We will be shooting between 31st August and 5th September. However actors will be required to attended rehearsals and costume fittings.

The roles are listed below:

Mika

 Male, 10-13 years old.

 This is a lead role and pay will be $50 per day.

 Mika and his sister Zara go trick-or-treating on Halloween and stay out after curfew. When they come across a mysterious little boy in the park and offer to walk him home, little do they know that they will never get home themselves.

Mika is happy, healthy and gutsy (but sensible). He has a really mean big sister (but she can be cool sometimes too).

Zara

Female, 15-19 years old.

This is a lead role and pay will be $50 per day.

Zara has guts, an attitude and an annoying little brother.

Boy

Male, 6-10 years old; light build.

This is a lead role and pay will be $50 per day.

Every year on Halloween the Boy comes out to feed, luring tasty-looking children away from the park, back to his lair of hungry little beasties.

Little Girl

Female, 6-10 years old; light build.

This is a supporting role and is unpaid.

A fiendish, scissor-wielding, hungry little ghost child who hasn’t tasted human flesh for a whole year…

Marcus

Male, 15-19 years old.

This is a supporting role and is unpaid.

Marcus and his sister Samantha stop at the park after trick-or-treating. A Boy appears – he looks innocent enough – and they offer to walk him home…

Samantha

Female, 10-13 years old.

This is a supporting role and is unpaid.

Ghostly children x 3

Male or female, 6-11 years old; light build.

Fiendish, crazy, hungry little ghost children, who haven’t tasted human flesh in a whole year…

Auditions will be held between 20th and the 31st of July. Exact times and dates to be confirmed.
