Auditions for Masters thesis film

Auditions for the film "Broken Bones".

Synopsis:

When the confident, but vain and chauvinist lawyer Tomas Hansen has a life altering bike crash which lands him in hospital, he finds himself under the care of the nurse Rebecca, a cute southern girl who gets too wrapped up in her patients, wanting them to get better not just physically, but emotionally as well. When she meets the stubborn Tom she finds that she has a lot more on her hands in this patient and has a hard time connecting with such a bastard.

Tomas Hansen

Age: 30

Build: Tall and well built

Hair: Dark

Skin: Tan

Background: Tomas was brought up in a household with a single mother and no father figure. With his naturally good looks this also meant as he got older he garnered a lot of attention from women as well. To try and please his mother and everyone else he did his best to become successful and he is now a young top lawyer in one of the best law firms in the country.

Physiology: Generally Tom is very sporty and likes to keep himself in top physical shape. He likes to move about and has a lot of energy.

Rebecca McDonald

Age: 24

Gender: Female

Build: Slender and medium height

Hair: Fiery Red

Skin: Fair

Background: Rebecca has come up from Christchurch to Auckland to pursue her dream of becoming a doctor but studying at Auckland University. However at the moment she is only qualified to be a nurse.

Physiology: Rebecca can be a bit of a klutz, often banging into things or knocking into other people. It is all part of her rambunctious personality as she jolts around the room with all her energy. It’s her energy that keeps her going, keeps her excited and keeps her fun.

Shelia Hansen

Shelia is the ignorant mother of Tomas, she hasn’t worked since Tom left high school and he has been supporting her ever since. She smokes like a chimney and drinks like a fish. Deep down she does love her son, but is incapable of showing it most of the time. This has caused a rift between her and Tomas.

Maude Robertson

Maude is the charge nurse at the hospital where Rebecca works, she has been a nurse for almost 30 years and has a LOT of experience. While this experience and the number of years she has worked has hardened her and she seems to be a bit of a hard case on the outside, she is actually very lovely and has a very compassionate streak in her.
