4 Male actors health sector training video
This project is for HoNOS training videos. They will consist of 4 filmed vignettes, each approximately 5 minutes long, with two to four actors in each vignette.

Role 1 | Ian is in his 30’s - 40's.
He has many years of experience as a clinician, and is good at his job. He features in Tom's vignette.

Role 2 | Tom is 44 years of age, and recently lost his job.
Since then he has become stressed, and his thinking has become confused. He has been struggling to remember things, and unable to make simple decisions. He has fleeting thoughts of harming himself – but has never acted on these thoughts. His GP referred him to Mental Health Services, and this short film vignette focuses on Tom’s initial meeting with the Mental Health Service clinician (Ian), to whom he explains his situation.

Role 3 | Tane is a Maori man in his 30’s.
He is married to Aroha, and Hemi is their oldest child. He is very concerned about the recent behaviour of his son Hemi (see Hemi’s profile) and is anxious to protect his son, but doesn’t know what to do. He and Aroha do not know anything about Mental Health Services and they don’t know who to talk to. His wife’s aunty thinks Hemi has a makutu on him, so she organized for him to see a Tohunga at their local marae.

Role 4 | Hemi is a young Maori boy, 16 years of age.
He is the oldest moko in his family and until recently he lived with his koro, who has passed away. Hemi’s parents and teachers noticed a big change in Hemi once his koro died. In this short film vignette, he is at the local police station. The police fished him fully clothed out of the local river. They became concerned with his bizarre behaviour and so have brought him into the local police station to speak to a Mental Health crisis worker.
