Actors wanted for Short Film
Introducing 41SOUTH; A project in which nine eager and artistic graduates from Ireland, Germany, Hungary, South Korea, New Zealand and United States have collaborated ideas and enthusiasm – bringing you an ensemble feature film which exhibits the unique style of each Director whilst staying true to the Wellington setting.
Each Director has written a script with the aim of directing a vignette that is characteristic of their own techniques, whilst crew roles are to be supported by each of the eight remaining film-makers. Each short will be united by a common central theme of loss, character struggles and events, and will as a result form a feature length narrative.
Shooting will be in the second week of October 2010!
We are looking for various Actors for one of the Shorts (Story: An old man lost his wife and is now struggling with the new situation):
1.) Main Character: Old, sad, somehow weird man.
- The role requires some bravery as the man is getting intimate with his wife's cloth and is even wearing a dress in public. He is sad, lonely and angry, stopped speaking after his wife's death (means not much text for you, but good acting) and in the film is slowly starting to get over it. The turning point is an "Anger Competition", the one that expresses his/her anger best will win, where he manages to yell out his feelings (you won't get a script for that scene, the director wants spontaneity here). IT'S ALL ABOUT THE ACTING!!!
- Males, aged 60 to 72
- Min Height 160cm/5ft 3in
2.) Sex-Call-Line Ladies
- cliché Sex-Call-Line voice
- Females, aged 25-40
3.) Extras
- as many as possible, every age, every gender
- for a scene in a Pub during an "anger-competition" (the one that curses the best wins)
- if interested in a little speaking role, we need 3 people taking part in the anger contest. You won't get a script, you just go on stage and curse as good (or bad ;) ) as you can.
Please notice that every role, except the Extras, need to come to an audition! Please contact me as soon as possible to make an appointment!
Acting, acting and acting!
