Actors wanted for a short film in Dunedin!
A complacent industrial town suffocates in a sticky heat wave. The normally unseen rat population crawls out from the gutters to die in broad daylight.
In the stifling heat the rat body count rises. The exterminators drastically try to rid the city of their obscene presence. Their actions unwittingly unleash a plague of fear the likes of which may mean the end for the once industrious town of Morum.
Characters:
REX- the boss and owner of “Morum Exterminators”. He is in his fifties and has grown up in the town, seen it stagnate over the years. He himself is falling prey to the mood of the complacent town and has been having an affair with his receptionist. Rex is a hard man and is not fazed by the horrific scenes that confront him.
SKINNY- A comical character. He is a tall lanky twenty year old who has only recently started working for REX. He dropped out of school early and has been lazying around ever since. He has a quirky personality and a taste for canned sardines . He is embarrassed of his job and doesn’t take it very seriously
SUE- a strong woman who has been beaten down by life and love She is hard on her son- and feels she has too now that his father is gone. She cares deeply for her son and blames herself for his bad behavior but feels that if only she is a bit tougher on him things will get better.
Alice- A pretty secretary in her late twenties.
