multi-instrumentalist for short Feb tour
UPDATE (JAN 10): I lost my Nelson show and will now do this tour solo... but I'm leaving the post up as some cool musicians have been contacting me. If you're keen to work on recordings or collaborate, then send me an email :)
--- original post ---
I've booked a small tour for the top of the south island and I've pitched the shows as a duo performance. I'd like to bring one multi-instrumentalist with me - anyone interested?
The style is contemporary folk/country/blues - original music but there may be a Gillian Welch, Josh Ritter, or Greg Brown cover thrown in.
If you play fiddle/mandolin, or upright bass/mandolin, and/or sing harmonies, then that would be pretty sweet - I'm interested in variety and 2 or 3 of any of these instruments might work out:
- voice
- guitar
- mandolin
- banjo
- bass (upright or electric)
- voilin/fiddle
- cello
- accordian, harmonicas or other cool organ sounds
- light/creative percussion
The shows are looking to be Feb 18 through 21 - there's enough money for us to eat/sleep/transport and have a few drinks, but there won't be any huge net profits... look at it as a small work-holiday weekend ;)
We'd need to do some 1 or 2 hr rehearsals weekly for a month (Jan/Feb), I reckon, and it'd be cool if you could get familiar with the material with some occasional listening. We could meet to have an initial jam and see how it feels - aside from these shows I'm also continually working on recordings...
you like contemporary folk/blues/country, and can play 2 or 3 instruments well (voice is an instrument, see description for full list)
