Hip hop, hard rock & electronica soundtracks
NZ Performance Car magazine is about to launch a drifting iPhone game and this is your (or your band's) opportunity to be featured in the game. It will go out to a global audience and if you are trying to break into the big time, being featured on something like this is invaluable exposure. We're submitting it to the Apple store on Monday 24th January, so you'll need to be in quick.
The deal:
- We're looking for hip hop, hard rock or electronica
- If you're supplying electronica it must have an edge - e.g. style could be from Amon Tobin through to Chemical Brothers, etc - but mustn't contain other people's samples (see below)
- It must have no profanity/swearing - the game will be rated 4+, so it can't have bad language
- It must be supplied as a high quality mp3
- You must own the rights to all sounds within the song - no unauthorised samples or loops. If you didn't create the sound or receive written permission from the person that did, then we can't accept it
- Maximum song length is 6 minutes; minimum is 2m 30s.
- It must be in final mix format, normalised, with proper fades
- Files must be smaller than 6Mb
- There's no payment or royalties for the music other than the opportunity for your music to be heard worldwide to a large number of people. You can use the game's artwork in your promotional material and state that it was commissioned for the game. HOWEVER (and this is the big opportunity for you): if the game is immensely successful there may be the opportunity for us to create a compilation album, and in this case you will be paid for inclusion in the album in the form of royalties for sales of the album. More details will follow only if that happens.
- Maximum of 3 submissions per artist - please don't send any more than that, just pick your best 3.
Your song will be played over the game's levels and will be part of a suite of 20 or so tracks that will be included in the game.
If that sounds cool to you, we need your track by this Saturday (22nd January) at 7pm. Please send mp3s only, one at a time, to driftlegends.com@gmail.com with the following information:
- Track name
- Band/Artist name
- Composer(s)
- Producer(s)
- Your contact details - phone, name
Make sure the mp3 is called the track name so that we can match them up. We'll let you know if your song has been chosen to be used. Good luck.
