Head of Music
The successful candidate will manage the music programme at the Barbican and at off-site locations, including our high-profile London 2012 Festival and Vision 2012 music projects. The music strategy will be planned in close collaboration with the Directors of Programming and Creative Learning and senior colleagues working in other art forms to deliver arts and learning programme of the highest quality.
You will work to develop excellent partnerships with our resident orchestra, the LSO, our associate orchestras and ensembles and other artistic partners including the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Having already worked at senior manager level in a major music or multi-disciplinary environment you will be experienced in leading and inspiring a large team and have an excellent track record in fostering partnerships and collaborations.
You will have managed a substantial budget and be able to work with the Development team to expand income streams. You will be required to generate artistic ideas in line with organisational goals and vision, whilst balancing artistic and commercial value.
