We require a part time person to join our small friendly team. The position is initially for 5 hours a day on Mondays, Tuesdays and Saturdays, but some flexibility to cover other days occasionally will be an advantage.
The position entails:
- customer service and sales of hand made jewellery and object art
- exhibition set-up and display and help with openings
- liaison with artists for repairs, sizing and orders
- receiving incoming work and sending items to clients
- help keep gallery and stockroom areas clean and tidy
The person we are seeking must:
- have a mature positive attitude towards sales and customer service in a commercial gallery
- have a good eye for the display and arrangement of jewellery and objects
- be fit and able to lift and carry objects, and able to climb a ladder to adjust lighting or hang objects
- enjoy serving people and being part of a team
- appreciate art objects and jewellery and be able to articulate the merits of the work
