The base funding has been an annual grant from North Shore City Council supplemented by membership fees, tuition charges and grants for specific purposes from other Trusts that fund community activities, e.g. - Lion Foundation.
The Mairangi Arts Centre was established in 1991 by a group of local arts enthusiasts and has operated continuously since that time.
Over the last two years considerable upgrading of the centre has taken place and the range of education classes and exhibitions has been extended. The Centre’s web-site www.mairangiarts.co.nz – has been upgraded.
Each year approximately 15 exhibitions take place in both the main gallery and the smaller Hewson Gallery.
In order to understand and engage with members it is necessary that Trustees attend and participate in events at the Centre to inform Board decision making.
