Part-time fixed term position, March–June 2009
The Web Editor role at the National Library of New Zealand combines hands-on editorial work with the creation of new content for the Library’s main website www.natlib.govt.nz.
The Web Editor is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the site, ensuring the content is relevant to site visitors, up to date, and meets the Library’s style guidelines. The Web Editor also works with staff throughout the Library to develop new content for the website, with the goal of increasing site usage.
Depending on where your interests lie, you may also be helping out with the National Library’s presence on Flickr and supporting the Library’s Create Readers and New Zealand Poet Laureate blogs.
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
· Excellent writing, editing and proof reading skills
· Experience writing for the web
· Experience developing engaging copy for different audiences.
Experience using a Content Management System is also desirable.
This is a part-time fixed term position for 3 months, beginning immediately and reporting to the Acting Web Manager.
