Librarian Collections & Systems Management
Librarian–Collections (Serials) & Systems Management – Te Aka Matua Library
(6 months fixed-term)
You will be responsible for the delivery of high quality collections (serials) management functions and associated technical processes. You will also be expected to initiate developments and improvements in Te Aka Matua’s systems and contribute to library projects.
To be successful in this position you will have:
· A library qualification, be customer focused and have a good understanding of the principles of librarianship
· Proven experience at operating serial management processes and in collection management, administration of library management software systems, experience with HTML, Inmagic (DB Textworks) or Genie is desirable
· Project management experience
· Self-motivated and innovative in your approach to delivering client based services and products in a customised manner
· Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate with a wide range of people and cultures
· Commitment to working in a bicultural environment
You will be rostered on the library’s public reference desk and will be at ease dealing with museum staff and the public. It is essential that you are available to work a five-day-week rostered over seven days.
