Job description: 

Greenpeace New Zealand is seeking a communication and media specialist to join our innovative and creative communications team.
 
Responsibilities include ensuring that our campaigns and organisation are effectively communicated to the media and public using a full range of professional and integrated communications and media strategies, writing and editing press releases and publications, and liaising with and building media relationships.
 
The ideal candidate will have:
 
  • At least 2 years of broad experience in journalism, or as an editor, or in the fields of media relations or communications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, editing, design, and content management skills.
  • Ability to work under intense pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrable understanding of social marketing and media communications theory and practices.
  • Demonstrable ability to develop and implement strategic communications plans.
  • Experience in managing print and/or audio visual production processes.
  • Strategic and creative thinker who can follow through to implementation.
  • Assertive communicator with good listening skills.

This is a permanent, full-time position, starting salary is $52,785 per annum, and start date is as soon as possible.
