The National Library is creating innovative ways for New Zealanders to access and interact with our collections and services, enhancing the library as a distinctive, innovative and important cultural place and space - onsite, online and on the road.
The Public Programmes team is seeking a Learning Programmes Specialist, based in Wellington, to lead the team of Learning Facilitators and a Programme Advisor. This team will help to deliver services in the library's public spaces and programmes. The excitement is in making innovative use of resources and working alongside directorates to develop and deliver creative, energetic customer focussed programmes to the public.
The Learning Programmes Specialist will provide expertise and learning leadership to the development and delivery of programmes, events and activities in line with initiatives across the heritage sector and our new generation strategy. We are looking for a leader who will work with the team developing capability to support a high standard of customer service whilst building skills and knowledge of National Library products and services. Collaborating with external agencies and partners, the Learning Programmes Specialist will ensure that future programmes build opportunities that our state of the art learning environments can bring.
The successful candidate will need to have a relevant post graduate tertiary qualification and at least 7 years experience leading the delivery of customer focussed operations. They will need to have proven experience in planning, designing and delivering learning events for diverse communities. This person will be a natural leader who is able to communicate effectively with customers and manage a team of learning professionals who will be working to deliver new generation objectives.
