You will be a highly motivated and vibrant individual with a passion for beauty coupled with innovation and an uncompromising concern for quality. The Counter Manager is responsible for the execution of all Counter activities including monitoring, setting and communicating targets; team management; customer service; administration; counter presentation and image; and the proactive involvement in all promotions, campaigns and events.  You will be based in a leading Department Store in Wellington.  Primary Responsibilities 

  • Set the example to the team by excelling in customer service and sales across the three categories of Fragrance, Makeup and Skincare and striving to constantly achieve and exceed all targets and KPI’s
  • Work with the Account Executive on all team management activities including setting and communicating daily and weekly targets; developing coaching strategies to address shortfalls in targets; motivating the team and creating a thriving sales environment and ensuring all store policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Counter administration including assisting with  placing stock orders and managing stock levels; tracking out of stocks and overstocks and actioning as appropriate; maintain the Out of Stock and Push Lists and communicate these to the team.
  • Maintenance of the counter visual merchandising standards including liaising with the in-store visual merchandising staff to ensure the ticketing reflects the campaign of the week; ensuring all team members maintain the Counter’s cleanliness and adhere to hygiene standards; and ensuring that all testers and tester units reflect the image of Chanel and are maintained at all times.
  • Work with the Account Executive on all events coordination activities including planning ahead for event bookings; ensuring stock levels and rostering are optimum for the event; ensuring each team member has a booking target and monitor their progress; and communicating results to the state team on a daily basis

  Candidate Requirements 

  • Minimum of 2 years management experience within the luxury beauty arena with the ability to coach and mentor a team of highly skilled sales people.
  • Strong sales ability
  • Exceptional organisation skills with the ability to prioritise, delegate and multi-task
  • Experience in meeting targets and budgets
  • A true appreciation for fragrance and beauty products that are truly beyond luxurious
  • Superior communication skills with the ability to liaise at all levels and build strong relationships with key stakeholders in store and within CHANEL.
