membership & administration officer
Museums Aotearoa is seeking a part-time Membership and Administration Officer for its small office in Wellington.
Museums Aotearoa is the peak professional organisation for museums and those who work in or have an interest in museums. Members include museums, public art galleries, historical societies, science centres, people who work within these institutions and individuals connected or associated with arts, culture and heritage in New Zealand.
Museums Aotearoa seeks to support the ongoing development of a vibrant, creative museums sector that leads the way for New Zealanders to celebrate their identity, visual and decorative arts, and heritage. We do this through membership communications and programmes, research and advocacy.
Our Membership and Administration Officer’s role is to:
• be the primary point of contact with our members
• manage and develop the membership
• manage communications and marketing
• manage our organisation’s administrative services
The person we are looking for will have:
• a keen interest in museums and art galleries
• excellent communication skills
• sound understanding of office management procedures and practices
• excellent computer skills
• experience in financial management (MYOB an advantage)
You will be expected to be flexible and adaptive, working up to 30 hours a week alongside the Executive Director and occasional project staff.
