Museum Development Officer

National Services Te Paerangi is a unit within Te Papa. Its mission is to strengthen the museum sector by providing practical and strategic help to museums and iwi throughout Aotearoa New Zealand. As part of this mission, we have implemented community-based positions to strengthen our responsiveness to the regions.
We are looking for someone to join us as a Museum Development Officer on a permanent full-time basis working in the North Island. The aim of the position is to provide museums with face-to-face support and advice, promote NSTP programmes and resources for uptake by the sector, and collaborate with other institutions around the country, as well as communicate sector needs and issues back to National Services Te Paerangi.
The successful applicant will have:
- A real passion for New Zealand museums
- A strong work history in museums, or a related area
- Exceptional networking abilities
- A proven ability to work independently.
You’ll also have a good understanding of the work of National Services Te Paerangi.
The successful applicant will need to be able to travel throughout the North Island on a regular basis.
